      Gone With the Wind...
an epic tale that remains as popular today as when it first appeared.   Bobbie Hardy invites you to re-capture the magic at Scarlett O'Hardy's Gone With the Wind Museum, located in historic Jefferson, Texas, the Bed and Breakfast Capital of Texas.  This 1,700-square-foot museum dedicated to Gone With the Wind features one of the largest private collections of memorabilia from this epic story of the Old South.

The museum tells the complete story of Gone With the Wind through displays focusing on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel written by Margaret Mitchell; the 1939 film produced by David O. Selznick and starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh, and the modern-day collectibles that reveal  just how pervasive the story's characters and dialogue have become in everyday life.

Without Mitchell, of course, there would be no Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler.  More than 100 foreign editions of the book -  from Bulgaria to Yugoslavia, from Denmark to Vietnam - give a fascinating glimpse at how the rest of the world views these most American of characters.

2024 - CELEBRATING
