Caddo Lake
Caddo Lake is one of the true natural beauties of the South. The one and only natural lake in Texas, and the second biggest in the entire south (until the addition of the dam in the 1900s), the cypress trees that give the lake it's signature bayou look have been estimated to be over 300 years old. Today, Caddo Lake is enjoyed as a lake to visit and explore, and it's great for fishing as well as kayaking and canoeing.
Caddo Lake was artificially dammed in the early 1900s, when oil was found, and for flood control in 1914. A new dam replaced the old one in 1971. More Lake Information
